The rooms are so clean and a step away from the swimming pool which is big and deep. It has beautiful surroundings, very peaceful. I think what made our stay most special though was the owner Kennit and his wife and friends. You couldn’t meet a group of people with bigger and friendlier hearts. So welcoming, funny, thoughtful and helpful. He will do anything to make your stay as pleasurable as possible. Next time I’m in Hikaduwa I will definitely be staying here again read less

Our main hosts for the 10 day duration, were Sara & Kenneth. Who happen to be -- young Danish visionaries -- creating an Oasis in the Sri Lankan Jungle (Hikkaduwa territory 1.5k from beach). You are made to feel on arrival like one of the gang & from then on, they and their team become friends rather than hoteliers.
The complex itself, is at the end of a track road, in the bosom of towering Palm trees. It has one of the best pools I've swam in & I've swam in some of the finest. It's like a cross between an olympic swimming pool & a Roman bath fit for Julius Ceasar. While this is all going on, there's a natural park on your doorstep, like Larpur Monkies, exotic birds, Land Monitors & chameleons, who are almost like Karma's extended family. Other factors that went in our favour, was the good wifi connection, superb breakfast (musili is a must).
Endless helpful advice & a tuk tuk service that never really leaves you waiting for more than 5 minutes.If you are a looking for a little adventure but also want to enjoy the surf & beach life. Hikkaduwa has a lot to offer -- no shortage of bars & restaurants -- easy to get to Galle, and as I write this, it has to be said Karma Guest house is the Rustic-Palatial-Jewel, that you'd be foolish to miss.

Our airconditioned room (no.4) was by the pool & was spacious with a good sized wet room. The breakfasts were great, with fruit platter, eggs to order & tea or coffee & toast. The swimming pool is well kept & loungers are available. It's a very quiet spot with daily visits from a troupe of monkeys & is an easy 10mins. walk from the beach & main Galle Rd.where ther are a multitude of good restaurants. There is a phone with a few no's. for Tuk Tuks if you would rather ride. We shared a great BBQ with the team & even went with Jon to the fish & veg. market for our supper .A good experience in the early morning. There is an undercover chill out area as well. We would recommend Karma to all types of travellers. read less

Amazing facilities, pool that’s cleaned everyday, really good A/C and wifi (a luxury in Sri Lanka!!) and surrounded in beautiful greenery that’s maintained daily too.

Kenneth is a really nice, helpful guy who’s English is very good. He gave us many suggestions on restaurants, things to do and made the week really enjoyable. We had a problem with the electricity in our original room but Kenneth nicely moved us into another room without any problems.

If your looking to visit Hikkaduwa, definitely stay at Karma Guesthouse! read less

For the price you pay you'd expect a cool room to sleep in, especially after you've walked 1KM from the main road to the resort. The shower doesn't really work if you want hot water, which most of the time you don't the cold water is fine, but on the odd occasions you need hot water, it was non-existent. The breakfast was ok, the pool is phenomenal, just what you need if you don't want to walk to the beach. Maybe some more sun loungers as when everyone is there there's nowhere for everyone to sit / lounge on. Didn't really meet the owners but heard they're very nice, our hosts were helpful. read less
